Merry Christmas

Here's a list of my top 5 xmas songs and movies:

Songs:
1 - Happy Christmas (War is Over) - John Lennon
2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Darlene Love
3 - Christmas in Hollis - Run DMC
4 - Last Christmas - Wham! Or Glee Cast version
5 - Christmas Night of Zombies - MXPX

* I'm not a big christmas music fan but those songs are among the best. honorable mention goes to the Ramones - Merry Christmas (I don't want to fight tonight) and Bright Eyes - Blue Christmas .

Movies:

1 - Scrooged - Easily my favorite Christmas movie of all time, because Bill fucking Murray is the shit.
2 - Silent Night, Deadly Night - Of all the Christmas horror movies, this one is the shining star. Even though the "Garbage Day" scene from the sequel is a bigger viral hit, this one is worth checking out on Xmas.
3 - Christmas Vacation - The Griswalds and their vacations that never seem to go right. I love all of the Vacation movies, but this one is classic holiday shit.
4 - Die Hard - Ho Ho Ho Now I have a machine gun. One of the greatest action movies of our time and it just happens to take place on Christmas.
5 - Jingle All The Way - Yes, it's an odd choice considering how many other good movies there are to choose from. My nephew loves this movie and it has become a Christmas favorite in our family. Plus who can't relate to, trying to find that one item that someone really wants but can't find. I seem to have this problem every Christmas.

Movie of the Month: Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil

Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil (2010)
Director: Eli Craig
Starring: Tyler Labine

Two hillbillies buy their dream vacation home in the woods, a run down cabin that needs a lot of work. Their peace and quiet is interupted by a group of college kids camping near their cabin. When one of the girls sees Tucker and Dale, she's startled and falls off a rock and hits her head, landing in the water. Tucker and Dale realize she isn't coming up and they go in to save her. They bring her back to the cabin to bandage her up, but her friends think they have kidnapped her. A chain of misunderstandings happens and the college kids start  accidentally killing themselves.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is absolutley hysterical. I don't remember the last time I have laughed this hard during a movie. The situation evolves early in the film which leads to tons of misfortunes on the college kids parts. The gore effects are amazing as well. This movie is the american Shaun of the Dead, and in my opinion is actually funnier. Highest Recommendation.

Movie of the Month: Robocop

Robocop (1987)
Director: Paul Verhoeven
Starring: Peter Weller
In a dark, violent, crime ridden future of detroit, a corporation owns the police department, and are trying to use their resources to create a new law enforcement tool to help protect the city. After one of their projects glitches out, they use the death of officer Alex Murphy to their benefit. Murphy is transformed into the Robocop, a crime fighting cyborg. Robocop is successful in fighting the crime in detroit, but his memories as Murphy start coming back, making him more vulnerable.

I remeber watching these movies when I was a kid and thought they were awesome. What kid didn't love Robocop back in the day? He was badass. Now watching it as an adult, I am realizing this movie was so far beyond badass. I must have watched it on tv, with the violence cut out or something, because I sure as hell don't remember all of the blood and gore. Plain and simple, I was shocked that movie has so much violence in it. It's almost like a troma movie(it needs a lot more gore for that though.) Anyway, Robocop is an awesome action/sci-fi movie that is not really for kids when you break it down.

Movie of the Month: The Haunted World of El Superbeasto

Director: Rob zombie
Starring: Tom Papa

A former mexican wrestler turned porn star/director finds a stripper being kidnapped by a very large gorilla. Whether it's his libido or his heroic sense of adventure (no question, it's his libido), he decides to try to save her. He enlists the help of his sister Suzi-X, while she is fighting off Nazi zombies. Beasto soon finds out why the gorilla kidnapped the girl and gets tangled up in Dr. Satan's evil plans.

The Haunted World of El Superbeasto is absolutely, one hundred percent entertaining. Sci-Fi and Horror movie geeks will notice countless references from classic movies, which makes it that much more fun. It's got enough humor to be one of the funniest things you will ever see. Rob zombie does not disappoint with this one. The animation is good (I think it's the same team as the Ren & Stimpy show.) I highly recommend this one. My only Complaint that it's a little too short. With that said, i really hope that there will be a sequel someday
